Welcome to The Art of Santa Carla

For nearly 40 years, The Lost Boys has inspired fans to create, from paintings and illustrations to photography, collage, digital art and everything in between.

The Community Gallery is our growing home for that work: a celebration of the artists and fans who have kept the world of Santa Carla alive through their creativity.

We're starting small and will continue adding work as the collection grows.

Hev Lyn

Hey! I'm Hev Lyn. I'm an artist, writer and designer. I'm big on older movies and games, and I love cats, arcades and analyzing characters.

I first saw Lost Boys in 2022, and I've been writing a Lost Boys fan comic since that very summer, so I'm beyond thrilled to be involved with this!

Just some experimenting. Lighting and style practice, mostly. I used my real hand as a reference for this.

"Hunters" fin 4/27/26

This piece took me a significant amount of time as it's digital mixed media. I 3D modelled the environment on Nomad Sculpt, exported images of it to Ibispaint (the app I use to draw), and manually drew in the Frog Brothers. This was inspired by my favourite artist Kristoffer Zetterstrand. So the environment is all 3D, but the Frog Brothers were afterwards drawn in 2D, meant to look 3D.

Made something inspired by The Lost Boys? We want to see it.

We're building a living visual archive of artwork inspired by The Lost Boys, Santa Cruz and the world of Santa Carla. This October, selected work will also be considered for our fan art exhibition at Hotel Paradox, formerly the Holiday Inn where the cast and crew stayed during filming in Santa Cruz.

We hope the exhibition will become a regular part of Return to Santa Carla, alongside this growing online gallery.

Submissions for consideration for the October 2026 exhibition close September 18th.

Your work stays yours

You retain copyright in anything you own and submit. Submitting material does not transfer ownership or copyright to us.

By submitting, you give Return to Santa Carla and One of Us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to preserve, display and share your submission as part of the project, archive, exhibitions, events, publicity and promotion. We will credit creators wherever reasonably possible.

We will never sell your submission or share your personal information with third parties without your permission.

If Your Work Is Selected

Submit digitally first. There is no need to send us physical artwork at this stage.

If your work is selected for the exhibition at Hotel Paradox:

Your artwork must be framed or presented ready to hang.
You deliver your own artwork.
You install and hang your own work.
Everything must be installed and exhibition-ready by 30 September 2026.
The exhibition runs throughout October 2026.
Artwork is collected on 1 November 2026.

Before You Submit

If your work is selected, it may be exhibited at Hotel Paradox as part of One of Us: A Lost Boys Festival.

By submitting, you give One of Us and Return to Santa Carla permission to photograph, film, reproduce and preserve your artwork as part of the Return to Santa Carla digital archive, and to use it for reasonable project-related purposes including exhibition and project promotion, websites, social media, publications, educational materials, exhibitions and documentaries.

You keep ownership and copyright of your work.

You are granting a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for those uses only.

You will be credited wherever reasonably possible.

We will never sell your original artwork without your separate permission.
